Heads up is a support group for patients diagnosed with Head and Neck Cancer and their relatives and carers, providing information and support.
Because head and neck cancer is relatively rare, people who have it often feel isolated. The disease and its treatment, which is often a combination of surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, can have a major impact on quality of life which in turn adds to the issue of isolation.
Everyone’s goal is to survive whatever challenges face them in life. The goal is to learn to live with head and neck cancer and its after effects. Each of members have their own story
Our members have made the journey from cancer diagnosis, through treatment and are well on the road to leading normal fulfilling lives again.
The group provides a safe environment where those with cancer can share common concerns and strengthen their ability to adjust to life with cancer.
You are not alone on the road to recovery
The meeting is not expected to last more than around two hours. Refreshments will be provided. A raffle is usually held to help raise funding, if you have an item you would like to donate for the raffle please bring it along with you.
If you click on “Our Meetings” you will get dates and directions to the meeting venue.
“Patients Stories” gives a list of patients and links to their story to show others have trodden the same route.
